The design of my guitars, and the construction methods I use, fall into the broad category of 'traditional', and though I work within established parameters, I have not copied any one particular instrument or maker. Each piece of wood is distinct, and therefore the precise thickness of the components of each guitar are adjusted accordingly. Stringing up a new instrument always carries the thrill of finally, after weeks of construction, hearing the effect of these minor, but crucial differences. |
The body shape is of my own design, as are the decorative elements of the guitar: the head - inspired by the lines of a painting by Picasso, Woman With Yellow Hair - and rosette - inspired by the motif on an ancient Greek vase housed in the British Museum. |
