Please contact me to discuss commissioning a guitar - or simply if you have any questions - and for details of price and availability

Typically, I make my guitars with Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, Alpine Spruce for the soundboard, Spanish Cedar for the neck, and an Ebony fretboard.  However, I have also made guitars with a variety of other woods, such as Flamed Maple, Birdseye Maple, and Cypress for the back and sides.  These each look very beautiful and give the sound a slightly different character, and I think are well worth considering.

I French Polish my guitars.  Although it is not as durable as other finishes and is labour intensive to apply, I think it is the most beautiful finish for a guitar.  It is also the finish which I am most confident improves the sound and is relatively easy to maintain and repair.

Alessi tuners and a Hiscox Pro2 case are provided as standard, although I am happy to use alternatives on request.

Seven string guitars can widen the possibilities of an ensemble, and I have been very pleased with the guitars made for players in the Alma Trio from the Birmingham Conservatoire and Meraki Quartet of the Royal College of Music.
